|Modemchk is a neat, small utility written by Tony Dawson that allows you to easily check your modem. The program was written in VisualBasic.
This program is an easy alternative to using HyperTerminal for modem diagnostics as it has an Auto Detect Port (you don't need to know what Com Port your modem is on); it also has built-in buttons (with help text on the bottom) that send some of the most common AT diagnostic commands to the modem with just a click!
Tony, who lives in New Zealand, now offers Modemchk as shareware with a 30-day free trial, and a purchase price of about $22USD. and is available from the Modemchk website.
