LT Win Modem Chipset ID

With later driver versions, the response to the command
AT i5
includes the modem driver version as well as PCI ID information:

ati5
8.10,0,19,11C1,0442,141C,9300

The fifth field is the Device ID, and can be used to determine which chipset/DSP is on the modem, although some Mars3 boards may have been upgraded to Mars 3.2 without changing the PCI ID - see note at bottom of the chart:

Device ID Chipset
0440 Mars 2 data/fax/voice
0441 Mars 2 data/fax only
0442 Mars 2 data/fax/tam only
0448 Mars 2 Global - data/fax/voice
0449 Mars 2 Global - data/fax only
044A Mars 2 Global - data/fax/tam
0444 Apollo 2 data/fax only; Modem/LAN combo behind Intel 82559
0445 Apollo 2 Global - data/fax only; Modem/LAN combo behind Intel 82559
0446 Apollo 2 data/fax/voice; Modem/LAN combo behind Intel 82559

044C Mars 3 Perseus - data/fax only (North America & Global)
044E Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax only
0450 Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax Global
0451 Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax/voice
0452 Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax/voice Global
0455 Mars 3 Perseus - data/fax/voice (North America & Global)
0458 Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax/tam only
0459 Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax/tam only - Global
045A Mars 3 Perseus - data/fax/tam only (North America & Global)
045B Apollo 3 Perseus - data/fax only; Modem/LAN combo behind Intel 82559
045C Apollo 3 Mercury - data/fax only; Modem/LAN combo behind Intel 82559
045D Mars 3 Mercury - data/fax/tam only - Global for Cardbus modem product
044C Mars 3.2 Mercury - data fax only when no eeprom is present (North America)

NOTE: If the device ID indicates Mars 3 or Apollo 3, the modem might actually use the 3.2 V.92 capable chipset. In this case, Windows will report &REV_02 at the end of Modem Information box from Control Panel -> Modems -> Modem Properties -> Diagnostics (later versions of Windows only; for earlier versions of Windows, this information is in the Registry and can be viewed with Regedit. In Windows XP: Control Panel -> Phone & Modem Options -> Modems Tab -> Properties -> Diagnostics Tab: scroll the Modem Information value display so you can see the end of the value as shown below: (here, device ID 442 & REV_01)

Key: Mars = PCI; Apollo = ISA
Perseus - Solid-state DAA
Mercury - electro-mechanical DAA

Mars 3.2 = 1648C DSP (V.92-capable with all 8.xx driver versions)
